Rosskopf & Partner AG was honoured again with two awards at the ISFA 2011 award ceremony. The International Surface Fabricators Association (ISFA) award is a highly prestigious international award for achievements in the processing of solid surface material. The ISFA and the journal “Surface Fabrication” by Cygnus Publishing annually pay tribute to the winners in six categories.
This year, Rosskopf & Partner won prizes in the category “Free Style Art” for a lighted globe and in the category “Residential Bath” for the MOSS series washbasin by NotOnlyWhite by Studio Marike Andeweg. The world globe in the Regensburg city Visitor Centre, planned and designed by the Bertrom Schwarz Frey Architecture Office in Ulm in cooperation with the a-u-r-a architects Christian Schmutz and Marisol Rivas Velásquez in Ulm, displays all the World Heritage Sites around the globe. The three-dimensional thermoforming and merging of the individual elements made of the solid surface material HI-MACS® into a sphere, as well as the technical installation of the illumination, was carried out by Rosskopf & Partner AG. The implementation of the contours of all the countries, which had to be machined exactly to the drawings, presented a special challenge.
The MOSS washbasin series, created by the Dutch designer Marike Andeweg, goes back to a design classic: the Chesterfield sofa with its distinctive, deep-quilted seams. The inverted arch breaks away from the surrounding linear motif and presents a unique, intriguing design. The washbasin, made of the solid surface material HI-MACS®, can be employed as a standing basin or as a permanently mounted wall element.
